Biography

Disc Jockeying is about generating shared moods, it’s about understanding the feelings of a group of people and directing them to a better place.

It takes a special talent and bent of mind to start a music property and sustain it.Roane has formed or been a part of quite a few such properties, adding his flair and aptitude to many a music space. Urbansoundz & DIRT were among the first few properties formed by Roane. He is currently working on a few other projects like Madbong, which is a yet to be launched Electronic project.

Roane also formed and heads his own company Audioheadz, which curates the music and handles all the clubs he is associated with.

Roane has also collaborated with a host of musicians by touring with them, like he did with Mukul Deora for the launch of his album Stray and with Ishq Bector as his dj/turntablist.

It is said that in the hands of a master, records create rituals of spiritual communion that can be the most powerful events in people’s lives. One can instantly recognize that Roane epitomizes this, when one tunes into to the remixes he has made for movies like Fruit And Nut, Bird Idol. Gondhal, and Nasha, to name a few.

Career Highlights

At the age of 16, Roane was the youngest DMC participant in the analog category.

At the age of 19, he provided background music for an animated movie.

Was filmed in the documentary Asian Vibes by MCM France for being one of India’s youngest disc jockey producer in the year 2003.

1st in the Times War of the Djs in Mumbai in 2005.

3rd in the All India Times War of the Djs in 2005.

2nd in the MTV Moto Alert All India Dj Championship.

2nd in the Bacardi Breezer Vivid Night Competition by Go 92.5 FM

He was also one of the first disc jockeys to introduce the concept of video mixing back in 2006, a style that is gaining popularity now.

Winner of the DMC 2013 in India and went on to
represent India at the international stage of the World DMC in London.
